Best AI content repurposing tools (2026): an honest comparison

Disclosure: Written by CreatorsCompanion. We make one of the tools on this page, so read it knowing that. Competitor facts come only from each company’s own website, checked on September 27, 2026. Prices and features change, so confirm on their pricing pages before you buy.

"Content repurposing" covers three different jobs: writing new posts from a source, cutting long videos into short clips, and pushing the same file to every platform. Most disappointing purchases come from buying a tool built for a different job than yours.

Below are seven tools, including ours, compared on what they take in, what they produce, whether they publish, and what they cost. For each one we say who it is best for, including where a competitor is the better choice.

Best for, at a glance

  • CreatorsCompanion: written drafts for six formats at once from one idea, voice note or link, in your own voice. You post them yourself.

  • Castmagic: podcasters and teams turning long recordings into transcripts, show notes and a set of written assets.

  • Repurpose.io: auto-publishing the same video across TikTok, Shorts, Reels and other platforms, with watermark removal.

  • OpusClip: clipping long videos into captioned short-form clips. The pick if what you need is video, not text.

  • Taplio: LinkedIn-only creators who want writing, scheduling, analytics and engagement tools together.

  • Blotato: writing plus AI visuals and video plus publishing to 9 platforms, especially if you automate with n8n, Make or an AI agent.

  • ChatGPT: occasional repurposing when you are happy to write the prompts and paste in the source text.

The tools, one by one

CreatorsCompanion

Writes multi-format drafts from one source (this is us).

Best for: Solo creators who want one idea, voice note or link turned into written drafts for several platforms at once, in their own voice and language.

What it does well

  • Inputs: typed idea or notes, a voice note, or a link to a YouTube video, Instagram Reel, TikTok or blog article, in any language.
  • Six formats from one run: Reels and TikTok scripts, LinkedIn posts, X posts and threads, YouTube scripts, email newsletters, and designed, editable Instagram carousels.
  • Uses your profile, bio and writing samples on every generation, and writes in the language you choose.
  • Builds each draft on one of 15 named content structures (for example Curiosity Loop, Context & Contrast, 3-2-1 Issue) and can give you 2-4 variants per format.
  • If a format fails, its tokens are refunded automatically.
  • Premium adds an Inspiration Hub of viral posts and trends from creators in your niche on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.

Keep in mind

  • It does not publish or schedule posts. You copy drafts into the platform or your scheduler.
  • It does not edit or clip video.
  • No team or collaboration features and no browser extension.

Price: Free plan (1,000 tokens a month, 3 runs a day). Pro $20/month or $17/month billed yearly. Premium $97/month or $63/month billed yearly. Try it free

Castmagic

Turns recordings (podcasts, video, meetings) into transcripts and written content.

Best for: Podcasters, video hosts and teams whose raw material is long recordings, and who want transcripts plus a standard set of assets drafted from every episode.

What it does well

  • Imports YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Reel and TikTok links, files, Zoom, Loom, Google Drive and RSS feeds; it can pull each new episode automatically.
  • Speaker-labelled, timestamped transcripts in 60+ languages.
  • A recurring "content pipeline" that drafts show notes, newsletters, blog posts and social posts from each recording, plus carousels and captioned clips in its Studio.
  • Team seats on every plan, and an API from the Starter plan.

Keep in mind

  • No free plan is listed on its pricing page.
  • Plans are sized by transcribed hours (30, 100 or 400 hours of library), which suits recording-heavy workflows more than quick ideas.
  • We did not find social publishing or scheduling on its pricing or features pages.

Price: Hobby $19/month billed annually ($239/year). Starter $48/month and Team $139/month, both billed annually. Business from $699/month. Visit Castmagic

Repurpose.io

Automatically re-publishes your videos and images from one platform to others.

Best for: Creators who already make short videos and want them posted to TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Reels, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and more without re-uploading by hand.

What it does well

  • Automated workflows that publish content from one platform to others, resized for each and with platform watermarks removed.
  • Schedule posts or publish instantly across many accounts; supports images, carousels and Stories too.
  • Connects YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Pinterest, LinkedIn, X, Amazon, Bluesky, Twitch, Google Drive and Dropbox.

Keep in mind

  • It moves your existing content. We did not find AI writing of new posts or scripts on its pricing or home page.
  • No ongoing free plan: a 14-day trial with 10 free published videos.

Price: Starter $35/month ($349/year). Pro $79/month. Agency $179/month. Visit Repurpose.io

OpusClip

Cuts long videos into short vertical clips (a different category from text repurposing).

Best for: Anyone with long videos, podcasts or streams who wants short clips with captions, reframing and B-roll, then posted to Shorts, TikTok and Reels.

What it does well

  • AI clipping, animated captions, auto reframe and an editor.
  • Auto-posting to YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Instagram Reels from the Starter plan; a social scheduler on Pro.
  • A free plan with 60 credits a month.

Keep in mind

  • The free plan adds a watermark, has no editing, and clips stop being exportable after 3 days.
  • It makes video clips, not LinkedIn posts, newsletters or threads. Pair it with a writing tool if you need those.

Price: Free. Starter $15/month (monthly only). Pro $29/month, or $14.50/month billed annually. Visit OpusClip

Taplio

An all-in-one LinkedIn growth tool.

Best for: Creators and founders who publish mainly on LinkedIn and want writing, scheduling, analytics, engagement and lead outreach in one place.

What it does well

  • AI post writing, draft improvement, AI images and carousels from your LinkedIn posts, and "repurpose" of your top posts from analytics.
  • Post queue and scheduling, analytics, a database of viral LinkedIn posts, engagement and auto-reply tools, and a Chrome extension.
  • Team and agency features.

Keep in mind

  • LinkedIn only.
  • AI writing is listed from the Growth plan; the Starter plan is focused on scheduling and analytics.
  • No free plan: a 7-day trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Price: Starter $39/month ($32/month billed yearly). Growth $69/month ($49 yearly). Pro $199/month ($149 yearly). Visit Taplio

Blotato

AI writing, AI visuals and video, and publishing to 9 platforms, with an API and MCP server.

Best for: Creators and operators who want one tool to write, generate visuals or faceless video, and publish, or who automate through n8n, Make or an AI agent.

What it does well

  • Sources include YouTube, TikTok, X posts, articles, PDFs, audio, raw text and research queries.
  • Publishes and schedules to X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky and Pinterest.
  • Unlimited AI writing on every plan, plus AI images, video, voiceovers, carousels and infographics (these use monthly AI credits).
  • Comment and DM keyword automations for Instagram and Facebook.

Keep in mind

  • No free plan: a 7-day trial on every plan.
  • A broad, automation-oriented tool; if you only need drafts to post yourself, you may pay for features you won’t use.

Price: Starter $29/month. Creator $97/month. Agency $499/month. Annual billing saves about 17%. Visit Blotato

ChatGPT

A general-purpose AI assistant from OpenAI.

Best for: People who repurpose now and then, are comfortable writing their own prompts, and already use ChatGPT for other work.

What it does well

  • A free plan with unlimited text chats on its base model.
  • Can do far more than content: research, analysis, images, voice, code.
  • Paid plans add Projects and custom GPTs, which you can set up to hold your voice samples and prompt templates.

Keep in mind

  • You build the workflow yourself: samples, per-platform prompts, transcripts, variants.
  • Output is text in a chat; carousels have to be designed elsewhere, and nothing is published for you.

Price: Free plan. Go, Plus and Pro plans are priced by region on OpenAI’s pricing page. Visit ChatGPT

How we compared

  • We read each company’s own website and pricing page on September 27, 2026, and used only facts stated there. Every source is linked at the bottom of this page.
  • We compared the things a buyer can check: the main job the tool is built for, what it accepts as input, what it produces, whether it publishes or schedules, whether there is a free option, and the entry price.
  • Prices are the lowest paid plan in US dollars as shown on the vendor’s page. Where a price is only shown with annual billing, we say so.
  • This is not a hands-on quality test. We did not pay for every competitor, so we give no scores, star ratings or "winner" badges.
  • We make CreatorsCompanion. We listed what it does not do in the same detail as everyone else, and we say plainly when another tool is the better fit.

Which one should you pick?

  • You record long videos or podcasts and want short clips: OpusClip. Add a writing tool if you also want posts and newsletters.
  • You already make short videos and want them on every platform automatically: Repurpose.io.
  • You publish almost only on LinkedIn and want scheduling and analytics too: Taplio.
  • You want AI to write, make visuals or video, and publish across many networks, or you automate through an API: Blotato.
  • Your raw material is a podcast or recorded show, or you work as a team: Castmagic.
  • You want drafts for several platforms from one idea, voice note or link, written in your voice, and you are fine posting them yourself: CreatorsCompanion.
  • You repurpose occasionally and enjoy prompting: ChatGPT.

Can you combine them?

Yes, and many workflows need two tools because the jobs are different. A common split is a clipping tool for video, a writing tool for posts and newsletters, and a scheduler for publishing. Check the combined monthly cost before you commit: stacking three subscriptions can cost more than one broader tool.

If you want to try the writing side without paying, our free tools turn a YouTube or TikTok video into a transcript you can reuse anywhere, including in ChatGPT.

Frequently asked questions

It takes something you already have, such as a video, podcast, article or rough idea, and turns it into content for other platforms. Tools do this in three different ways: writing new posts from the source (CreatorsCompanion, Castmagic, Taplio, Blotato), cutting long video into short clips (OpusClip), or re-publishing the same file across platforms (Repurpose.io). Pick the kind that matches the job you actually have.
Of the tools on this page, CreatorsCompanion, OpusClip and ChatGPT have free plans. Repurpose.io offers a 14-day trial with 10 free published videos, Taplio and Blotato offer 7-day trials, and Castmagic does not list a free plan on its pricing page. This was checked on September 27, 2026.
Repurpose.io, Blotato, Taplio (LinkedIn only) and OpusClip (for clips) publish or schedule. CreatorsCompanion does not: you copy its drafts into the platform or your scheduler. We did not find publishing on Castmagic’s pricing or features pages, and ChatGPT is not a social publishing tool.
Yes, for video: it turns long videos into short vertical clips with captions and can post them. It does not write LinkedIn posts, threads or newsletters, so it is often used alongside a writing tool rather than instead of one.
If your workflow starts with long recordings and you want transcripts and show notes, Castmagic is built for that. For short clips from the episode, OpusClip. If you want posts for several platforms from an episode link or your notes, written in your voice, CreatorsCompanion fits.
It is written by CreatorsCompanion, so treat it accordingly. To keep it fair we used only facts from each company’s own website, linked our sources, listed our own limitations, and said where a competitor is the better choice. It is a feature and pricing comparison, not a hands-on quality test.
